The Design Principles
The success or value of any product or service depends on a finite number of critical factors. Each of these can be glaringly obvious or completely invisible in different situations. Every successful offering addresses them all, whether they know it or not.
Our courses are set up to explore the Design Principles initially, and then let them apply to your work.
The Design Principles, in short:
- Diversity - Who could possibly be involved?
- Purpose - What are we trying to achieve?
- Insight - What do we have at our disposal?
- Inspiration - What else is happening in our world?
- Letting go - Can we set aside ownership of our ideas?
- Context - What is the reality of the people we are designing for?
- User-focus - Does this actually meet the users/stakeholders needs?
- Foresight - What might the future of this look like?
- Functionality - Does it actually do the job?
- Simplicity - Could this be simpler?
- Sustainability - Will it last as long as it’s meant to?
The overarching objective is to reach a new place that is in alignment with your purpose.
