Bill Lee - Chair

Bill is an experienced individual who has held many positions including the General Manager of FMG for the South Island, Chairman of the Board for Radford Yarn Technology Ltd, Managing Director of Southern Cross Truffles and most recently the Commercial Director at the University of Canterbury. He brings to The Britten Institute vast experience, including communication skills, brand development expertise and effective strategic planning.


Michelle McKay - Treasurer

Michelle is a former primary school teacher and attained a Bachelor of Education from Massey University. During her time as a teacher she assisted in the implementation of ICT programmes within the school which led her to a career in the accounting sector. Michelle continued her studies with a Bachelor of Accounting. Michelle is an experienced Chartered Accountant with a demonstrated history of working in the accounting industry. Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, business planning and development. 


Dorenda Britten - Founder and Secretary

Dorenda is a challenger and future-thinker, helping people who want to make a difference to see the reality of, and opportunities within, the big picture. She has a varied entrepreneurial, business background. Dorenda has been a Judge at the NZ Hi-Tech Awards for over 10 years, was a member of the Research & Development Working Group, and is providing mentorship as part of Our Land and Water National Science Challenge and SODA Inc. With 20+ years of experience in the design space and as founder of The Britten Institute, Dorenda’s goal is to reframe design around a set of principles that will secure our environmental, social and financial future.
